Elevation Solutions is excited to introduce our K12 Practice Lead, Caitlin Pfeiffer! Caitlin joined our team in 2020 and has since led many of Elevation Solutions’ K12 clients through successful implementations. Her impact on our K12 clients has been immense and we’re excited for Caitlin to move into a role that targets the K12 industry and how they utilize Salesforce to better serve their students, faculty and families.

Here’s a bit more on Caitlin, her background, and what’s next for her new role:

Q: Can you tell us about your Salesforce experience and how you’re applying that to K12?

A: My entire professional career has been in the CRM consulting space, with the last 13 years focused on Salesforce. Prior to joining Elevation Solutions, I’ve implemented Salesforce across a wide range of industries – manufacturing, financial services, pharma, retail… you name it.  While I’ve always loved a lot of my past clients and experiences, what attracted me most to join the Elevation Solutions team was the clients that we serve.  It’s amazing to get to partner with organizations that are really making a difference in our communities and with children. Since joining the team, I’ve focused heavily on how I can leverage my deep knowledge of the Salesforce product in order to bring innovation to K12 schools.

Q: What do you enjoy about working in the K12 industry with K12 teams?

A: I have a real soft spot in my heart for K12 organizations. My mom was a 2nd grade teacher, and I’m also the mom to 2 school aged kiddos – I’ve been able to find so much personal fulfillment and satisfaction by getting to drive value and efficiency for our K12 clients.

Q: In your opinion, how does our team provide the most value to K12 teams?

A: I’ve been lucky to have the opportunity to see how Salesforce can be really transformational for K12 organizations. While there are a lot of great point solution software platforms out there that support very specific needs in the K12 space, it’s often challenging for school staff to have a good 360 degree view of their students. We’ve also found a lot of the tools that K12 schools rely on aren’t very flexible, so they are still heavily using spreadsheets, paper, and manual processes. We’ve been able to help overcome these challenges for schools by integrating Salesforce with their key data systems (such as their SIS, data warehouse and financial systems) and then providing Salesforce solutions to fill in the gaps between their existing tools or completely replacing antiquated systems that just aren’t working for them. With Salesforce for Education, we’re able to leverage solutions built specifically with K12 use cases in mind that are also built with the power and flexibility of the Salesforce platform. It’s great to have a lot of capabilities for K12 schools out of the box, but we really focus on how we can tailor our solutions specifically for what our clients specifically need.

Q: What are some pain points K12 schools are experiencing?

A: While we’ve helped K12 clients with a long list of different projects… everything from special program enrollment to professional learning for staff, the area we tend to see most often is helping schools prepare their students for their post secondary education or a future career.  Developing college and career readiness programs have been a big focus for schools and departments of education, and districts are finding they need a way to track this data more easily and comprehensively. So we’ve built solutions for schools to manage their Career and Technical Experience (CTE) programs, CTE Pathway information, Work Based Learning opportunities, industry partner relationships, student technical certifications, CTSO memberships, and even grant management to track how grant funding is supporting these programs.
