Here at Elevation Solutions, we are sensitive to the fact that COVID-19 has impacted teams that primarily have on-premise operations. Since remote work may become your temporary day-to-day, Elevation Solutions offers our support and guidance to help you navigate this change! Given we are a 100% remote team, we’d like to share some great resources with you that can help you navigate this transition and lesson the impact.

Our team’s work-from-home tips to ensure that you stay healthy and productive during your time away from the office:

  • Set up a comfortable workspace at home in a separate area or room that you only use during work hours. From our experience, this helps get “in the zone”.

  • Rise and shine! Wake-up and get ready in the morning as you would for your workday in the office. Some people even wear shoes at their desk to emulate their office environment. Don’t get caught still in your robe at 4PM!

  • Set your work hours and take breaks as you normally would in the office. It’s easy to work more hours than normal (or necessary) when you don’t need to commute. When your workday is done, close your computer and leave it in your home workspace.

  • Set boundaries with your family and friends, especially if they are home while you’re working. Consider having an ‘I’m Busy’ or ‘Stop’ sign hanging on your office door so they know when not to interrupt.

  • Leave your house at least once per day, even if it’s for a short walk (the pup will thank you!).

  • Use social video call platforms such as Zoom and Google Hangouts to connect with your team members throughout the day.

  • Use a noise cancelling headset to keep calls quiet and also prevent background noise in your own home from distracting you.

  • Take advantage of being home and cook nutritious meals throughout the day. Schedule them in your calendar so you don’t forget to eat!

If you’re thinking that now is a good time to upgrade a couple items in your home work space, we shared our favorite products a while back:

Please let us know if we can provide any additional resources or support to your organization. After all, we’re all on the same airplane! (Although please stay healthy while boarding any actual airplanes in the near future!).
